Job Title: MEAL Assistant

Project: Save the Children IHA Nutrition Project

Location: Mafa & Jere Borno State and Song Adamawa State

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Collaborate with program staff to develop data collection tools, ensuring they align with project indicators and objectives.
  • Qualitative data collection (FGD and KII) with beneficiaries.
  • Conduct regular data collection in the field, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timeliness.
  • Enter, clean, and manage collected data in designated databases or systems.
  • Responsible for data storage and ensure proper data archiving of all reports regarding project activities.
  • Work closely with MEAL officer in community sensitization, compilation of feedback and complaints at the field level as well as compliant resolution
  • Collaborate with MEAL Coordinator to ensure data quality through routine validation and verification processes.

Ethical Standards and Data Security:

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., social sciences, development studies, statistics).
  • Prior experience (1-2 years) in monitoring and evaluation, data collection, or related fields.
  • Proficiency in data collection tools, data entry, and basic data analysis.
  • Familiarity with database management software and data visualization tools.

Job Title: Case Worker – Nutrition and Protection Project

Location: Borno and Adamawa States
Reporting Line: Protection Officer / Child Protection Officer / Case Management Supervisor

Job Purpose:

The Case Worker will provide individual case management support to vulnerable children and families, particularly survivors of abuse, neglect, exploitation, and violence, as part of GHIV Africa’s integrated Nutrition and Protection intervention. The Case Worker is responsible for identifying at-risk children and caregivers, conducting assessments, developing and implementing case plans, ensuring appropriate referrals, and providing psychosocial support in line with inter-agency and GHIV Africa case management standards.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Case Identification and Assessment

  1. Conduct outreach and identify vulnerable children and caregivers through protection screening and nutrition activities.
  2. Conduct comprehensive assessments of protection needs, risks, and strengths of the child and caregiver using GHIV Africa’s standardized tools.

2. Case Planning and Management

  1. Develop and implement individualized case plans in collaboration with the child, caregiver, and relevant service providers.
  2. Provide direct support (e.g., psychosocial support, follow-up on referrals) and coordinate multi-sectoral services such as MHPSS, nutrition, education, health, and legal aid.
  3. Ensure proper case closure in line with minimum standards and documentation procedures.

3. Referral and Service Coordination

Maintain updated service mapping and referral pathways for health, nutrition, GBV, education, and legal support services.

Ensure timely and confidential referrals of cases to appropriate service providers and follow up to ensure service delivery.

Support nutrition teams in referring protection cases, especially those identified during treatment of MAM/SAM and IYCF counseling.

4. Documentation and Confidentiality

Maintain accurate, up-to-date, and confidential case files using GHIV Africa’s case management tools and database.

Ensure data protection and confidentiality are strictly maintained, following GHIV Africa and donor safeguarding standards.

Participate in case review meetings and submit regular progress reports to the Case Management Supervisor.

5. Psychosocial Support and Child Participation

  1. Provide age-appropriate psychosocial support through one-on-one and group sessions.
  2. Facilitate safe spaces and structured recreational activities to promote psychosocial well-being.
  3. Ensure children and families are meaningfully involved in decisions affecting their lives.

6. Community Engagement and Awareness

  1. Support the implementation of awareness-raising and community sensitization activities on child protection, GBV, nutrition, and safeguarding.
  2. Liaise with community leaders, caregivers, and child protection committees to promote safe environments for children.

7. Coordination and Capacity Strengthening

  1. Participate in internal trainings and weekly case management supervision sessions.
  2. Support capacity building of volunteers or community-based protection structures when needed.

Required Qualifications and Experience:

  1. Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Health, Nursing, Education, or related field.
  2. At least 1–2 years of experience in child protection, case management, or social work, preferably in humanitarian settings.
  3. Knowledge of protection issues affecting children and caregivers in conflict-affected areas, especially in Northeast Nigeria.
  4. Knowledge of community-based child protection approaches, preferably including experience in participatory approaches (PRA/PLA) and child participation methodologies.

Job Title: Generalist – Programme Management

Job Purpose:

The Generalist – Programme Management will play a cross-functional role in supporting the planning, implementation, and monitoring of GHIV Africa’s projects cutting across Nutrition, Education, and Protection programs. He/she will work closely with the education manager, nutrition manager and protection/gender specialist in carrying out seamless implementation in Borno, Adamawa and Yobe State. The Generalist will work with field teams, technical specialists, and partners to ensure quality program delivery, compliance with donor standards, and the integration of gender and protection principles into all stages of the project cycle.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Program Planning and Implementation

  1. Support the design and implementation of GHIV Africa’s programs particularly in nutrition, education and protection.
  2. Work with project staff to ensure timely and quality delivery of project outputs, including awareness sessions, safe space activities, protection assessments, and referral services.
  3. Assist in coordinating capacity-building workshops for staff, volunteers, and community members on GHIV Africa projects.

2. Monitoring and Evaluation

  1. Assist in monitoring program indicators related to protection and gender, including data collection, beneficiary tracking, and documentation of project results.
  2. Support the MEAL team in ensuring that gender and protection indicators are integrated into data collection tools and reflected in reports.
  3. Participate in field visits, program quality checks, and beneficiary feedback mechanisms.

3. Community Engagement and Empowerment

  1. Support the implementation of community-based protection mechanisms, women’s committees, and youth-led advocacy activities.
  2. Facilitate inclusive community dialogues and outreach efforts that promote GHIV Africa’s programs across the BAY states.
  3. Encourage the active participation of persons with disabilities, adolescent girls, and marginalized populations in program planning and implementation.

4. Coordination and Partnership

  1. Participate in protection and gender sector coordination meetings at the field level.
  2. Support partnerships with government agencies, women-led organizations, community-based groups, and other stakeholders to enhance service delivery and referral networks.
  3. Coordinate with other program sectors (education, nutrition, livelihoods, WASH) to integrate protection and gender equality across interventions.

5. Compliance and Safeguarding

  1. Support the integration and application of GHIV Africa’s safeguarding policy and compliance standards across Nutrition, Education, and Protection project activities.
  2. Monitor adherence to sector-specific standards and principles—such as “Do No Harm”, informed consent, confidentiality, child-friendly and inclusive approaches—within all relevant interventions.
  3. Ensure timely reporting and documentation of any incidents or violations related to safeguarding, program quality, or compliance, in line with GHIV Africa’s protocols across all sectors

6. Documentation and Reporting

  1. Prepare timely activity reports, success stories, case studies, and input for donor and internal reports.
  2. Maintain accurate records of project activities, training sessions, and outreach activities.
  3. Ensure learning, achievements, and challenges are documented and shared internally for program improvement.
  4. Support the departmental heads in report writing, reviews and presentation of findings.

Required Qualifications and Experience:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Social Sciences, Gender Studies, Law, Psychology, International Development, or a related field.
  2. 2–3 years of relevant experience in protection, gender-based violence, women’s empowerment, or gender mainstreaming, preferably in a humanitarian or development context.
  3. Demonstrated experience working with community-based approaches and participatory methods.
  4. Familiarity with protection principles and minimum standards (e.g., IASC GBV Guidelines, CPMS, Sphere Standards).

Job Summary:

The HR Responsible role is responsible for delivering end-to-end human resource management services that support the unique dynamics and challenges of technical functions in GHIV Africa HR department. The ideal candidate is adept at understanding technical roles and competencies, aligning talent strategies with GHIV Africa strategic plan, organization goals, and creating a high-performing, engaged, and compliant workforce environment.

This position requires a deep understanding of organizational structures, technical talent dynamics, labor regulations, humanitarian principles, donor requirements, HR best practices, and GHIV Africa values.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Talent Acquisition & Workforce Planning

  • Partner with technical leaders to develop annual and quarterly workforce plans based on organization projections and project requirements.
  • Support the HR Manager in executing transparent recruitment processes, including posting job ads, screening applications, scheduling interviews, and preparing employment contracts
  • Support the HR Manager in the design and coordination of structured interview processes, including technical assessments and panel interviews.

6. Organizational Development & Culture

  • Design and deliver employee engagement surveys specific to the needs of GHIV Africa staff.
  • Support the HR Manager to promote DEI (Diversity, Equity, Inclusion) programs within GHIV Africa and ensure fair practices in recruitment and promotions.

7. Reporting & Analytics

  • Develop dashboards to track recruitment metrics (e.g., time-to-hire, cost-per-hire), attrition, training hours, and diversity ratios.
  • Contribute and provide HR data-driven insights, monthly and quarterly reports to executive management and donors.

Qualifications & Skills:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Industrial Psychology, or a related field.
  • Additional qualifications or certifications in HR (e.g., PHR, SHRM-CP, CIPD) are preferred.

Experience:

  • 3–6 years of experience in a full-spectrum HR role, preferably supporting technical departments.
  • Proven experience managing HR functions in a technical/engineering/IT/manufacturing environment.

Technical Knowledge:

  • Understanding of technical job families (software development, QA, IT support, production, automation, etc.).
  • Familiarity with technical stacks and basic terminologies used in engineering and IT (a plus but not mandatory).
  • Experience with HR systems such as SAP SuccessFactors, Workday, BambooHR, or Zoho People.

Nutrition Officer :

  • Lead the planning, implementation, and monitoring of MIYCN interventions at community  level.
  • Supervise, mentor, and support Community Nutrition Mobilizers (CNMs), MIYCN counsellors, and other field staff to ensure quality service delivery.
  • Conduct on-the-job training, coaching, and supportive supervision for community staff on MIYCN protocols.
  • Develop weekly/monthly activity plans and ensure timely execution and reporting of MIYCN activities.
  • Collaborate with health facilities, community leaders, and stakeholders to promote key MIYCN practices and strengthen referral pathways.
  • Ensure the effective implementation of mother-to-mother and father-to-father support groups to promote optimal infant and young child feeding practices.
  • Oversee community-level screening and identification of malnutrition in infants and children,  and ensure timely referral and follow-up.
  • Provide technical input in the design and dissemination of behaviour change communication (BCC) materials related to MIYCN.
  • Support data collection, entry, and validation related to MIYCN indicators and contribute to monthly, quarterly, and donor reporting.

REQUIREMENTS:

Education & Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Nutrition, Public Health, Dietetics, or a related field (Master’s degree is an advantage).

Specialized training or certification in Maternal, Infant, and Young Child Nutrition (MIYCN) is highly desirable.

Experience

  • Minimum of 2–3 years’ experience working in nutrition programming, preferably in humanitarian or development contexts.
  • Demonstrated experience in conducting MIYCN counselling, promoting optimal Infant and Young Child Feeding (IYCF) practices, and supporting maternal nutrition interventions.
  • Experience in community engagement and working with local health systems or health workers is a strong advantage.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong understanding of nutrition in emergencies, malnutrition causes, and treatment protocols.

JOB SUMMARY:

GHIV Africa is seeking highly motivated and experienced Protection and Gender Assistants to support the implementation of our Nutrition/Protection project funded by Save the Children International (SCI) in Borno and Adamawa States, Northeast Nigeria. The project aims to improve the nutrition status of vulnerable populations, particularly women, adolescent girls, and boys, while ensuring their protection and safety in the context of the ongoing insurgency. The successful candidates will work closely with the project team to ensure that project activities are implemented in a way that prioritizes the safety, dignity, and well-being of all participants, particularly women and adolescent girls who are disproportionately affected by the crisis.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide regular supervision, guidance, and support to case workers, ensuring they have the necessary skills and knowledge to effectively manage GBV and child protection cases.
  • conducting regular case review sessions, providing feedback, and identifying areas for further training or support.
  • Oversee the case management process, ensuring that cases are managed in accordance with established protocols and guidelines.
  •  ensuring confidentiality and safety protocols are followed, and providing guidance on complex or challenging cases.
  • Monitor the quality of case management services provided by case workers.
  • identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions as needed like conducting regular monitoring visits, reviewing case files, and gathering feedback from beneficiaries (survivors) and stakeholders.
  • Provide training and capacity-building for case workers, as well as providing coaching and mentoring.
  • Coordinate with other stakeholders, including service providers, government agencies, and other organizations, to ensure a comprehensive and integrated response to GBV and child protection cases.
