GHIV Africa was founded to mitigate the health deficit in Africa and to provide all forms of assistance leading to improved quality of life. The organization is equally poised to support the delivery of healthcare services at the doorsteps of every African village by bridging the gap between primary health care delivery and tertiary health care services through a robust referral system.
We are looking for a qualified candidate who has worked in a similar role and in this contexts to support our operations as a Logistics Assistant
Duties/Responsibilities of this role:
Warehouse Management
- Ensure periodic cycle counts are conducted per GHIV Africa policy to maintain accurate stock records.
- Conduct fiscal year-end stock inventories and generate comprehensive inventory reports together with officer upward review.
- Assist programs in developing and implementing effective stock distribution plans to prevent expired items or grant closures affecting stock.
- Provide ongoing training and support to storekeepers to enhance their performance and reporting accuracy.
- Oversee warehouse operations in GHIV operational LGAs, ensuring proper stock-keeping, optimal storage conditions, security, and facility maintenance.
- Prepare and finalize monthly expendables store reports, detailing stock movements and remaining balances.
- Maintain warehouse security, efficient stock management, and proper documentation.
Asset Management
- Track, maintain, and record all GHIV Africa assets to ensure an up-to-date asset database.
- Ensure all staff in acknowledge accountability for assigned assets using GHIV Africa receipt forms.
- Implement and monitor asset maintenance systems and procedures.
- Conduct quarterly physical asset verification and submit reports to the Logistics Manager.
- Coordinate with the Logistics Manager and Finance team to review and implement asset disposal in compliance with GHIV Africa and donor regulations.
- Maintain an updated filing system for all asset records.
- Ensure retrieval and reassignment of assets upon staff departure.
Fleet and Transport Management
- Oversee transport fleet operations, ensuring efficient vehicle allocation in coordination with program teams and the Logistics Manager.
- Implement systems to track and account for transported goods.
- Collect, review, and ensure proper completion of vehicle log sheets.
- Manage and supervise drivers to ensure compliance with transport policies.
- Ensure all vehicles carry required documentation and that licenses and insurance are up to date.
- Maintain security measures for all vehicles when not in use.
- Manage the procurement, inventory, and distribution of vehicle-related parts, consumables, and fuel.
- To carry out any other duties assigned to.

Diploma, HND Business Administration, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or related field.

Job Summary:
The Hygiene Promoter will support the implementation of health promotion activities within communities, focusing on educating individuals about hygiene, nutrition, and disease prevention. They will engage with community members to raise awareness and encourage the adoption of healthy practices. This role involves collaborating with project staff and local partners to ensure effective health communication and outreach.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Conduct community health education sessions, focusing on hygiene promotion, disease prevention, and nutrition.
• Develop and distribute educational materials on health topics relevant to the community.
• Engage with local leaders and stakeholders to promote health initiatives and encourage community participation.
• Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of health promotion activities, collecting feedback from participants.
• Collaborate with field teams to organize health campaigns and workshops that address community health needs.
• Assist in the identification of health challenges within the community and propose appropriate interventions.
• Support the implementation of behavior change communication strategies to improve health outcomes.
• Maintain accurate records of health promotion activities and report on progress to supervisors.
• Participate in capacity-building initiatives for community members and local health workers.
• Foster partnerships with local organizations and government agencies to enhance health promotion efforts.
Requirements:
Education:
• Minimum of Diploma or BSc in Public Health, Environmental Science, Social Sciences, Community Development, or related fields.
Experience:
• At least one year of experience in community health promotion or a similar role.
• Familiarity with health education methodologies and experience working in humanitarian or development contexts.
Technical Competencies:
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage diverse community members.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) for documentation and reporting.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and work in a fast-paced environment while meeting deadlines.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in reporting health activities.
Desirable Skills:
• Experience in developing and implementing health campaigns or workshops.
• Knowledge of local health issues and challenges within the community.

Job Summary:
The Chlorinator will be responsible for the day-to-day bucket chlorination of water sources, conducting water mapping, assessing water quality, taking samples for testing, and monitoring chlorination activities. This role is crucial for ensuring safe drinking water and improving public health within the community.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Conduct daily bucket chlorination of water sources to ensure safe drinking water for the community.
• Perform water mapping to identify sources and distribution of water within the community.
• Assess water quality through regular testing and monitoring of chlorine levels and other relevant parameters.
• Collect water samples for laboratory testing to evaluate microbial and chemical contaminants.
• Maintain accurate records of chlorination activities, water quality assessments, and test results.
• Collaborate with local health authorities and stakeholders to address water quality issues and improve public health outcomes.
• Provide education to community members on the importance of water chlorination and safe drinking water practices.
• Monitor and report on the effectiveness of chlorination efforts, making adjustments as necessary.
• Participate in capacity-building initiatives for community health workers and volunteers on water quality management.

Requirements:
Education:

Job Summary:
The Data Clerk will support the collection, management, and analysis of data related to WASH activities. They will ensure accurate and timely data entry, reporting, and maintaining records of activities in collaboration with project staff and field teams. This role involves maintaining databases, assisting in report generation, and supporting the smooth operation of WASH activities through data management.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist in data collection and entry for WASH activities, including hygiene promotion, water, and sanitation services.
- Maintain and update databases with information on WASH activities, beneficiaries, and resource allocation.
- Ensure the accuracy and quality of data collected by field teams, performing routine data checks and validation.
- Generate daily, weekly, and monthly reports on WASH activities for internal and external stakeholders.
- Support the development and maintenance of digital and physical filing systems for WASH project documents.
- Collaborate with WASH coordinators and field teams to ensure proper documentation and data integrity.
- Assist in data analysis and presentation for planning, monitoring, and evaluation of WASH projects.
- Engage with local government and partner organizations to share data and reports as needed.
- Ensure timely input of data into monitoring systems and respond to data requests from supervisors.
- Assist in the production of progress reports, ensuring they align with project goals and timelines.

Requirements:
Education:
- Minimum of HND or BSc in Statistics, Information Management, Information Technology, or related fields.
Experience:
- At least one year of experience in data entry, management, or a similar role.
- Familiarity with data collection tools and methodologies, particularly in humanitarian or development contexts.
Technical Competencies:
- Strong computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Excel, Word, and database management.
- Knowledge of data collection tools like Kobo Toolbox, ODK, or similar platforms.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and work in a fast-paced environment while meeting deadlines.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and reporting.
Desirable Skills:
- Experience in handling sensitive data with confidentiality.
